As a recent addition to the SWD design team (the new parent company of Stylistic Web Design) I thought I would share some of the areas of inspiration I draw upon when designing work for clients.
Here at SWD we draw on all areas of media to help influence our designs and make them have a layer of depth and reason most designs do not have. The reason for this is that it helps to create more original designs but it also provides a layer of substance that helps the growth of any future work that creates a truly unique brand identity.
Influences come in many shapes and forms which are not always other forms of Graphic Design or pretty pictures. It can be anything from sounds, textures, films, tastes and colours. All these influences can then be absorbed and used at a later date.
The below video was released a few months ago. The video is made up of a series of images taken onboard from the International Space station. The scale, sound and colour are truly inspirational and is an excellent example of how science and technology can help show us the beauty of our planet.

Continuing the space theme here is another project that uses over 30,000 images from the Cassini satellite of Saturn. No fancy 3D rendering used just Photoshop and After Effects with a bit of Samuel Barbers' Adagio for Strings (famed by the 1986 movie Platoon).
